UNTIL means “up to such time as” or “up to the time
that” an
action takes place. The writer of this Psalm found himself in a very bad
situation.
He was in a position where his faith and humanity were at war
within his mind.
He knew that God had been good to Israel (73:1) and
praised God for it.
His problem was that he felt like the unbeliever, the heathen,
“the ungodly”
were experiencing a better life than he did.
He must have questioned the wisdom of serving God in a
world where
the “ungodly” seemingly prospered. He was very troubled
about
this UNTIL he went into the sanctuary of God. It was only then
that
he saw things as they really were. How long did he suffer? He
suffered
and anguished UNTIL!.
What are you suffering with right now in your life?
We know that we will suffer many things in this life (Job 14:1)
before we die.
How long do we intend to suffer mentally/spiritually about
our (or other people’s) condition (s)? The answer is this, we will suffer
UNTIL
- until we decide to go into the counsel and sanctuary of God
rather than
lean on our own understanding (Prov 3:5).
Jesus told us that He could handle our problems (Matt 11:28-30).
Are you ready for your UNTIL?
