This page gives us the opportunity to introduce the ministers and key staff members.
"It
was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to
prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." - Eph 4:11-12 (NIV)

Ministering Evangelist
"In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view
of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct,
rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound
doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching
ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations,
endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry." - 2 Tim 4:1-5 (NIV)

Bro. Elijah (Eli) Cole comes to Olney from the Atlanta area where he served the Simpson Street Church
of Christ as an Associate Minister under Dr. Andrew J. Hairston. Bro. Cole preached, handled special topics, and taught bible
classes including a class for young married couples. Prior to that Bro Cole served the Schaffer Rd. Church of Christ in Marietta,
Georgia as an Associate and then Interim Minister. Bro. Cole got his start in Ministry under the guidance of Bro. Carnell
Nealy at the MLK St Church of Christ while a student at Texas A&M University. Bro Cole started song leading, teaching
bible classes and preaching within a year of being baptized. He served as the Assistant Minister, represented the congregation
publically and developed a campus bible study. After 4 years he moved to Atlanta and the Turner Rd (now Bouldercrest) congregation
where he taught bible classes, served on the evangelism committee, completed leadership training to become a deacon, served
as a zone director, and started a class aimed at the post high school young adults. He was directed at Turner Rd by the minister
Bro. Edward Keyton. Bro. Cole is native of Port Arthur, Texas and has been married to Andria since 1991. Sister Cole
was raised in Lakeland, Florida and has been an active part of the church since she was 8 years old. She is an accomplished
Lady's Day speaker and bible class teacher. She is an educator with certifications in Leadership, Math, and Science. They
have a son (Alexander) and a daughter (Priscilla). Bro Cole holds a B.S. in Sociology from Texas A&M University
in College Station, Texas. He also earned an M.A. in Theology and a Master of Divinity from Amridge University (formerly Southern
Christian University) in Montgomery, Alabama. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree there as well.
His favorite scripture is Ephesians 4:1 where the Apostle Paul exhorted the church at Ephesus to "have a walk worthy
of the vocation with which you were called". He believes that the scripture calls God's people to not only "talk
the talk" but "walk the walk" as well. He believes that when the church models Christ in our daily lives the
world will see our good works and want to glorify the father in heaven (Matt 5:16).

Youth Minister
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." -
Prov 22:6 (NIV)
|
"I asked God for patience, and he had me teach high school." - Brother Tim Junkins Timothy Junkins is the youth leader at the Church of Christ at Olney.
Brother Tim has been blessed
these last couple of years by his experiences in ministry. He graduated from Ohio Valley University, class of 2006, with a
B.S. in Bible with a minor in Practical Ministry. To graduate he took a job/internship at a Christian school in Bowie, MD
at the church where he grew up. After graduating, he stayed on an additional year to assist at the school since it was so
new. While there, he worked with a couple of church youth groups at the church in Bowie as well as around the surrounding
area.
Brother Tim felt drawn to youth education because the potential he found within himself when he became
a Christian at the age of 15. He realized that teenagers, whether raised in the church or new to it, have the same potential
for learning and growing through Christ.
Brother Tim came to the Olney church almost a year ago in hopes
of finding a way to use his education to help others. It was a random search is the midst of other churches, and once again,
God directed his energy towards youth education. In the fall of 2008, he started teaching the weekly youth class, and that
winter he began to organize some of our first youth activities.
Being a Christian is about growing in the
Lord, as well as discovering whom you are. In his current class, they are focusing on the basics of Bible, while emphasizing
the importance of the events and taking time to study that these were real people in real situations.
Brother
Tim's favorite book of the bible is Philippians, which he calls "The Everyman's book" (See sermon page).
It is a simple teaching on how we as Christians need to strive always, and persevere in the face of adversity.

Elders
|
"To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and
one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not
because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording
it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the
crown of glory that will never fade away." - 1 Pet 5:1-4 (NIV)
